MACAA posed the following questions to Cindy Davenport…

What do you feel is the best program/service your organization offers, and why?

I feel the best program the Royal Arts Council offers is our Community Theatre. The participants are able to showcase their talents: singing, dancing and acting on our stage to large audiences, multiple of times. Our first-time younger performers gain self-confidence and speaking skills and often continue “grow up” in our programs from their first-time experience.

How do you feel your organization contributes to your community and/or sense of community?

The Royal Arts Council venue, the Royal Theatre, is a downtown landmark to our community. Our community theatre and our performing and visual arts events generate interest in our activities and audience members come from a 100-mile radius to attend our one or more of our performances. Participants in our community theatre events are from the surrounding locales and spark interest in the Royal Arts Council’s programs, thereby generating interest in our community.  We often boast about our ever-growing “Royal Family”, here at the Royal Theatre.
